Business Systems Analyst

Department: INFORMATION SERVICES
Location: Falmouth, ME

The Business Systems Analyst is a key player in bridging the gap between business needs and technological solutions at SIGI. This role involves analyzing business processes, gathering requirements, designing solutions, and implementing systems to enhance organizational efficiency. The position is based in Falmouth, Maine.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and improve current business processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and document their needs, ensuring clear and comprehensive requirements
  • Develop functional and technical specifications for new systems or enhancements, ensuring they align with business objectives
  • Oversee the implementation of new systems, ensuring they meet business requirements and are delivered on time
  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshoot issues related to business systems, ensuring minimal disruption to operations
  • Work with cross-functional teams to manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems and processes, ensuring clarity and accessibility
  • Oversee incidents and requests in the ticketing system, assigning effort and priority to tasks to ensure efficient resolution

Qualifications – Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, information technology, or a related field is preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in business analysis or a related field
  • Project management experience with Jira preferred
  • Proven analytical skills, proficiency in data analysis tools
  • Excellent communication skills with proven ability to speak succinctly and professionally
  • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams as well as independently demonstrating influence without authority
  • Comprehensive understanding of SIGI’s product offering, specifications, and options, with a capability to comprehend the customer’s application and recommend the appropriate solution
  • Proven critical thinking and team-building abilities
  • Good presentation skills and social awareness
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced and changing environment with an optimistic and can-do attitude
  • Able to work well under pressure
