Southworth Products Inc., located in Manila, AR, has immediate openings for a Painter Working Team Lead – Night Shift: 4:30pm-3:00am Monday through Thursday.

As a Painter Working Team Lead in our facility, your primary responsibility is to work with and lead a team in various manufacturing machinery and equipment paint and coatings applications. Your work will contribute directly to the appearance, longevity, and functionality of these machines and will work to ensure customer satisfaction by ensuring quality products.
Primary Functions:
- Team Leadership: Provide department employees with guidance, direction and technical assistance as well as training when the Building Manager is not available
- Scheduling: Provide customer satisfaction through schedule attainment by providing quality products
- Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces of machinery for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, and applying primers as needed
- Paint Application: Apply paint and coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment according to specifications and industry standards
- Color Matching: Mix paint to match specified colors and ensure consistency throughout the painting process
- Quality Control: Inspect painted surfaces to ensure they meet quality standards, including proper coverage, smoothness, and adhesion
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain painting equipment and tools in good working condition, including cleaning, calibrating, and performing routine maintenance tasks
- Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to hazardous material handling procedures
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of materials used, work performed, and any issues encountered during the painting process
- Collaboration: Coordinate with other members of the manufacturing team, including engineers, technicians, and production managers, to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of painting tasks
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings related to painting operations, and contribute ideas for enhancing product quality and efficiency
- Training: Stay updated on new painting techniques, materials, and equipment through training programs and self-directed learning to enhance skills and knowledge in the field
- Perform other duties and complete other assignments as may be requested or assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Must have good communication and supervisory skills and be computer literate
- Must be able to build an effective team through personal interaction based on trust, respect, communications, problem solving, with focus on individual and team performance
- Experience as a painter in a manufacturing or industrial setting is preferred
- Understanding of painting techniques, materials, and equipment used in industrial applications
- Proficiency in surface preparation, paint mixing, and application methods, with attention to detail and quality
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and work in various environmental conditions
- Commitment to following safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injurie
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and convey information clearly and accurately
- Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Certification in painting or industrial coatings preferred but required
- Must be able to bend, twist, reach, grasp with fingers, stand for extended periods of time, and lift up to 50 pounds
